99% of Participants confirm the event added value to them and the industry.

A conclusive vote of confidence for investing in Aviation Safety Error Management Systems - was the outcome of the first Annual European Safety Symposium successfully held on 4th and 5th November 2008.

The event was attended by over 90 of the industry’s leading practitioners and proved to be a very successful event for the sharing of ideas, experiences and initiatives.

• Over 30,000 staff were identified within Participant organisations as contributing to Error Reporting.
• Over 10,000 errors were recorded and reported within Participants  MEMS systems
• Over 90% of surveyed Participants  thought Human Factors training had delivered a positive impact to their organisations safety and business culture
• 100% of all Error Management champions indicated they were looking to move their programmes to the next stage

The Baines Simmons sponsored event was held over two days with all presentations delivered by serving practitioners telling their stories of what had worked, what had not worked, what to do and what to avoid.

Several networking breaks gave delegates the chance to informally share experiences and to arrange impromptu workshops with the opportunity to discuss how to take their increased knowledge forwards in their particular organisations.
