We are looking for an Initial Airworthiness consultant, to be responsible for making a difference to Baines Simmons customers across the Consulting, Training and Managed Services proposition.  You will be pivotal to the delivery of the BSL strategy, continuous improvement of the portfolio and exploitation of SMARRT MAP™ as part of the Baines Simmons proposition, products and services.

You will work closely with all internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful products and services as per the following key result areas (KRA)

  1. Client satisfaction – delivering Consulting, Training and Managed Services to world-class standards
  2. World-leading proposition – developing, maintaining and evolving a product and services portfolio that is market leading
  3. Business development – supporting the business to identify and expand business opportunities
  4. Project management – managing profitable client and value-add Baines Simmons projects or programmes
  5. People development – initial/continuous professional development and assurance of other Consultants in the team
  6. Ambassadorship and thought leadership – representing Baines Simmons at conferences, events and working groups for the betterment of the business and the industry

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Practical experience of working in a design organisation, ideally as a team leader, Manager or a Form 4 Holder where you had the ability to influence the Design Management System
  • Familiar with Part 21 and/or EMAR 21 and UK Military DOA, and how to effectively apply the intent in a design organisation
  • Experienced in generating means of compliance (MoC) to key requirements in product design codes (such as EASA Certification Specifications)
  • A passion to support Baines Simmons strategy to make the skies safer
  • A desire to continually develop self and others
  • An ability to build trust, rapport and influence
  • A full UK Driving licence
  • A willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally as required (reasonable mileage and expenses covered)
  • An ability to be credible and engaging when presenting/ advising others

Desirable:

  • Engineering degree (needed for credibility in front of the target audience)
  • Training, consulting and/or project management experience
  • Training design and development experience
  • A strong network within the industry
  • Experience of working with the regulator
  • An understanding of SMS together with the ability to apply this the Initial Airworthiness domain
  • Recent flight test experience, with emphasis on the application of Part 21 Subpart P and the FTOM
  • Knowledge Part 21G (POA) – application and integration with Part 21J (DOA)
