Owning, Delegating and Demonstrating Compliance
This course will enhance your knowledge of EASA’s management responsibilities and bring you fully up-to-date. You will then have a greater appreciation for your role and responsibilities with regard to the emerging performance-based regulatory approach. It will answer these questions: 
Are you compliant? If so, how do you know?
Is compliance part of your day job or perceived as a separate function?
Do you fully understand what is required to manage safety?
Do you know what role compliance plays within your SMS?
Are you clear who owns compliance within your organisation?
Do you worry about regulator audits?
Is there ownership of compliance throughout your organisation?
Do you really manage compliance and can you fully demonstrate control?

This key foundation course will help you to develop successful integrated business systems that both improve efficiency and reduce error. We will explore regulatory intent and your responsibilities within the EASA regulatory framework, helping you to avoid unwanted outcomes and protect you and your organisation from harm.
This course will enable you to adopt a management system approach that helps you achieve your compliance requirement, as well as deliver tangible business benefits. Attending this course will help you to:
  • Increase confidence in your stakeholders by demonstrating how well you are meeting your compliance obligations

Is this course right for me?
This course is ideal for managers and their direct reports within any EASA approved organisation. This includes:
  • Accountable Managers
  • Nominated Persons and their Deputies (e.g. Directors of Flight Operations; Continuing Airworthiness Managers, Maintenance Managers, Operations Managers, Head of Training, Production Managers, Quality/Compliance Monitoring Managers, Chief of the Office of Airworthiness, Head of Design Organisation and Chief of Independent System Monitoring)
No specific prior knowledge regarding EASA is required to attend the course.
Course details
Course format: This course is a balanced mix of group discussions, flipchart work and PowerPoint presentations. Managed syndicate exercises give you the opportunity to practise the application and evaluation of new processes and techniques.
Course level: Foundation Level Training (F) is suitable for those with little or no prior knowledge of the subject who are looking to develop a fundamental level of understanding and competency.
Assessment process: No formal assessment. Formative feedback is provided by the facilitator throughout the course.
Course size: 16 persons maximum at our Aviation Safety Academy or on-site at your facility.
