Frequently asked questions

I am a new postholder and would like to understand how I can deliver real benefit in my new role. Is this course suitable for me?

Yes, understanding the intent of the regulations, the management system approach and the role of Compliance Management will empower you to develop a system that can deliver benefits beyond simple compliance. By adopting a management system approach to compliance, you can deliver tangible business benefits while determining how well compliance is being managed in your organisation. This will lead to greater confidence in your stakeholders, i.e. your Accountable Manager, the Regulator, clients and the Executive Board that compliance is being managed effectively.

I am about to submit my application to be a UK CAA / EASA Form 4 holder. Is this the right course for me?

This course is designed to help you understand your regulatory obligations within a UK CAA / EASA approved organisation. However, if you are concerned about your preparation for the interview or wish to focus in specifically on the requirements of the approval you hold, you may wish to consider our TR60 Accountable Managers / UK CAA/EASA Form 4 Holders / Nominated Persons - One-to-One Workshop, which will provide you with the opportunity to tailor the session more specifically to your needs.

I am a manager in a small organisation. Are there any benefits to me from attending this course?

The management system approach requires organisations to consider the size and complexity of their operations to develop systems which are tailored to their individual circumstance. So, irrespective of the size of your organisation, this is a suitable course for all managers of UK CAA / EASA approved organisations.

The current challenging economic conditions has driven various demands for organisational change. Will this course set me up to meet this challenge and help me find a sustainable solution?

Yes. Understanding the regulatory intent of what you own is a crucial first step in being able to create a flexible, suitable and sustainable organisational structure.

Isn’t responsibility for compliance covered by my compliance monitoring/quality department? Why do I need to know this information?

Compliance must be owned by those who have been identified by the organisation to ensure it ‘remains in compliance’ e.g. Nominated Persons. The regulation is clear on compliance ownership and it is not compliance monitoring or quality Q: I don’t operate under ORO.GEN 200 – is this course still suitable for me? A: This course is not specific to the requirements detailed within ORO.GEN 200. Irrespective of your current regulatory domain, understanding the benefits of a management system approach will help you achieve your compliance requirement, as well as deliver tangible business benefits.
