Baines Simmons joins forces with Farnborough College of Technology to enable funding opportunities for training
Baines Simmons, a world-class airworthiness consultancy based in Surrey, has teamed up with Farnborough College of Technology to help improve the skills of aviation professionals. This move is part of the co-funded European Social Funding (ESF)/South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) Scheme.
Long established, Baines Simmons specialises in delivering top class training and consultancy tools and products to the aviation industry. Keeping aviation staff current is a constant challenge as new technologies and advancing methodologies dictate an almost constant ‘up skilling’ requirement. This places a huge burden on small to medium sized enterprises where costs must be controlled. The ESF/SEEDA scheme is aimed at helping these organisations gain the required skill levels at acceptable training budgets.
Linking in this manner opens up funding which, under the present agreement, allows funding for up to £470 per head per course. This represents a significant cost reduction, whilst retaining the highest quality standards that Baines Simmons is renowned for.
After signing the agreement, Howard Leach, Head of Operations commented, “this funding is very exciting as it gives us the ability to offer our highest quality service to areas of the industry where budgets and cost control matter most. I am convinced this will be a major factor in reducing overheads, improving business efficiencies and reducing error rates in the aviation industry”.
