Baines Simmons participate in Accident and Investigation workshop in Beijing
Baines Simmons participated in a 3 day Accident and Incident Investigation Workshop in Beijing, China last month, organised by the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP). The event was organised in partnership with the accident investigation department of the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC).
The aim of the workshop was to share best practice, exchange ideas and learn from each other. There was a focus on the Just Culture aspects that are central to the effective conduct of investigations. Baines Simmons conducted presentations on Just Culture/FAiR2 and Error Management and facilitated a group exercise using a case study of an accident investigation that had been presented by the UK AAIB using the Baines Simmons FAiR2 tool.
The event was attended by around 40 CAAC colleagues and 10 European colleagues from APP, Rolls-Royce, UK AAIB, Lufthansa, KLM, Airbus, and EASA. The workshop was very well organised and was received well by all, with some valuable understanding gained across the two parties.
