Introducing new Associate Consultants to the Baines Simmons team - March 2021

We are delighted to have welcomed new Associate Consultants to the Baines Simmons team. With decades of experience between them covering every aspect of the aviation industry, they will be supporting us in offering a comprehensive and inspirational learning experience to our clients.

Edoardo Mancini

Edoardo has extensive knowledge and experience acquired in the aerospace manufacturing, operations, and training worlds. His expertise spans across the whole product development lifecycle with special emphasis areas such as design, verification and validation, airworthiness, and operation both as flight crew and spacecraft engineer.

Prior to joining Baines Simmons, Edoardo was operating as Airline Pilot on a widebody large transport aircraft for a legacy airline in South East Asia. With over 10 years tenure in the aerospace industry, Edoardo has covered roles within the NAC, EMEA and APAC regions. Starting his career as flight instructor, he was later engaged as Flight Operations Manager and Pilot for a corporate aviation operator. As Systems Engineer, he led complex and innovative projects with Tier1 aircraft propulsion OEMs, spacecraft manufacturers and operators.

Nawfal Demnati

Nawfal studied BTEC HND in mechanical engineering where he experienced both practical and theoretical engineering design. He studied Aeronautical Systems Engineering (Degree with Honours).

Nawfal is an engineering consultant who has worked on various civil and military projects over the last 21 years. His roles have exposed him to many very high-profile projects in the UK and abroad where he had a key role in the certification of missile systems, certification of aircraft missions systems, flight testing, certification of STCs for large aircraft and interpreting regulatory requirements & maintaining Part 21J for the Design Organisation.

Neil May

Neil is a highly experienced leader and consultant working for over 30 years within the aviation industry.  He is well recognised within the Air Traffic Management community for leading the development of global best practice in safety and human performance management and for influencing the adoption of new approaches to safety.

Neil spent 30 years with NATS working across all aspects of Air Traffic Control operations.  For the last 10 years, he was the Head, Human Factors and then Director, Human Performance leading a team of ergonomists, organisational psychologists and human factors specialists to maximise the human performance of air traffic controllers.  Prior to that, he was an Operations Manager at the Swanwick and Prestwick Air Traffic Control Centres accountable for the operational safety and performance provided by air traffic controllers.  He has also held a number of other posts including Head, Operational Resource Planning, Head, Flight Data Processing and Head, Safety Analysis.

New member of the Baines Simmons management team – Sandra Hill

With over 20 years of airline learning and development expertise, Sandra specialises in safety and security for flying and maintenance personnel. With expertise ranging from Crew Resource Management, Human Factors and Error Management to Operator and Aircraft Conversion, Sandra’s enthusiasm and high energy facilitation style are key to learning and development.

Prior to joining Baines Simmons in 2019, Sandra’s expertise comes from 23 years in learning and development roles at British Airways. These include Customer Service and Systems training, Dangerous Goods training, Cargo training and, more recently Safety and Security training for Cabin and Flight Crew at the Global Learning Academy. She will be working as a consultant as well as being the Head of Competence and Development Standards as part of the Baines Simmons Management Team.
