Stage is set for 2012 European Safety Management Symposium

The third European Safety Management Symposium is booked to take place on 15 and 16 May 2012, once again hosted by world leading safety improvement specialists, Baines Simmons Ltd. This prestigious event will take place at the Marriott London Heathrow Hotel and will include a gala dinner on the evening of the first day at which the winner of a new Innovation in Aviation Safety Award will be revealed.

2012 European Safety Management Symposium The European Safety Management Symposium is an essential occasion for all professionals in the aviation industry who are involved in safety. It will bring together a group of high-profile speakers from the regulators as well as the civil and the military sectors of the industry. The event will also provide a unique opportunity to network with other professionals in the industry who are working towards achieving the highest standards of safety performance through positive safety cultures.

The symposium will focus on The Business Approach To Safety, examining how a company’s performance and profitability can be enhanced through the effective application of safety management systems. Presentations and managed sessions will demonstrate how leading organisations are successfully embedding and integrating the different components of a safety management system. Further, the symposium will demonstrate that an integrated, people-centric approach leads to prioritisation of safety, reduction of costs and improvement in operating efficiencies. Where this is attained, organisations can achieve an increased resistance to unsafe acts and conditions among their employees and so maximise safety performance as well as improve bottom line business benefits.

“As the only event that brings all those working in the industry the very latest developments in safety management systems, the European Safety Management Symposium is vital for everyone with responsibility for any aspect of aviation safety,” states Keven Baines, managing director of Baines Simmons. “With 250 delegates attending the second symposium, twice as many as came to the first, this event is increasingly being recognised as a crucial fixture in the diary of all aviation safety professionals.”

All those attending the 2012 European Safety Management Symposium will be invited to attend a gala dinner at the end of the first day. This will provide the platform for the presentation of the industry’s first international safety awards scheme, details of which will be launched in November 2011.

Tickets for the 2012 European Safety Management Symposium cost £645 plus VAT although there is a discount to £545 plus VAT for those booking before 16 January 2012.
