With over 35 years’ experience in aviation, covering all aspects of continuing airworthiness, quality assurance and maintenance in both large and small organisations, Martin is a highly experienced and competent professional with practical experience on a wide range of fixed and rotary winged aircraft in Commercial Air Transport, Corporate/Private fleets, Special Missions and Military categories. He has previously held security clearance at the highest levels when selected for duties within the Royal Households and Government Offices. His professionalism, experience and technical skills ensure he provides clients with the highest levels of confidence and assurance.
Expertise and capability
Consults as an airworthiness surveyor. Martin is authorised to recommend the initial issue, renewal and export Certificate of Airworthiness for aircraft registered with the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry
Advises on the implementation and ongoing compliance with EASA Part 145, Part M, Part 21G and Part 21J regulations in approved MRO, CAMO, POA and DOA organisations
Advises on QA roles and accountabilities to improve work systems, productivity and regulatory compliance
Advises on QA continuation training and personnel recruitment of approved engineers for type-training
Audits ARC and non-EASA CofA renewals
Holds a current Part 66 CAT A, B1 & C Aircraft Maintenance Licence
Career background and experience
Martin’s early career with the RAF saw him working as an aircraft engineering supervisor on the Queen’s Flight and post-discharge as a Shift Chargehand with responsibilities for the maintenance of the 32 (The Royal) Squadron fleet. Subsequently, Martin held various Nominated Postholder / Form 4 and Accountable Manager roles for leading UK Charter Airlines and Maintenance organisations before joining Baines Simmons as a surveyor for the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry.
