Frequently asked questions

I'm a CAT operator so don't I just need to read Part CAT?

No. Part ORO, including the Management System requirements, applies to all air operators, and you may also need to apply for specific approvals under Part SPA. This course will give you an understanding of what parts of Air Ops govern your operation, and what action you need to take to satisfy the regulator that you comply.

My company only manages bizjet aircraft on behalf of their owners, so aren't we a private operation? I don't think Air Ops applies to us at all.

If you are the operator of Complex Motor-Powered Aircraft, then you are subject at least to Part NCC and Part ORO. But you may also find that even when you carry only the owner, the flight is legally a CAT flight and subject to both Part ORO and Part CAT. This course will give you an understanding of what parts of Air Ops govern your operation, and what action you need to take to manage your operation safely and satisfy the regulator that you comply.

What's all this about management systems? We've had an ops manual for years - what's changed?

The Management System requirements are set out in Part ORO and thus apply to all air operators. This course looks at these requirements and helps you understand the action you need to take to manage your operation safely and satisfy the regulator that you comply
