With an enormous experience in regulatory development, management, compliance and training, Ian is a highly valued member of our team.

Ian’s career spans many years in aviation regulations and policy making and has included roles as Continuing Airworthiness Policy Manager for the UK CAA’s Airworthiness Division and Senior Airworthiness Surveyor at various Regional CAA Offices with responsibility for regulatory compliance oversight of approved maintenance organisations. He offers clients invaluable regulatory expertise and insight relating to the implementation of EASA and National regulations.

Expertise and capability

Engages with regulators, industry and government on airworthiness and safety policy
Provides expert advice to international and national groups on policy preparation
Develops appropriate implementation standards for new and revised EASA/ICAO regulations
Is a current MRB and ISC member and a registered EASA expert
Liaises with MoD/MAA and CAA on MRCOA contracts and compliance with civil standards
Maintenance Programme construction & compliance (Part M & Part 145)
Provides training for regulators and industry on regulatory subjects
Career background and experience

Ian has a wide range of experience from a long career working in civil aviation regulations. He has served as an EASA Regulatory compliance auditor responsible for approved maintenance organisations in the Middle East, Far East and Africa. He was also an EASA MRB advisor and has been an ISC member for the A380 since 2003. He held responsibility for the introduction of the revision to BCAR requirements to align with EASA Part 145 and Part M. Ian is an EASA Part 66 (B1 & C) and BCAR Licence holder (A, B & C) as well as a Member of the RASoc.
