Peter Hibbert


With over 30 years experience in the aviation industry as a professional manager, technician and engineering instructor, Pete brings with him extensive practical understanding of how to implement safety improvements within management and staff levels of an organisation.

Expertise and capability
Pete delivers safety culture change programmes, consulting and training in human factors, error management and effective event investigation, to evolve open culture environments that support effective error management and safety programmes. His client experiences include a large number of aerospace organisations including the European Defence Agency, UK CAA, UK MAA, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, BAE System, Rolls Royce, QinetiQ, Thomas Cook and Augusta Westland.
Pete consults at senior management and National Authority levels to develop understanding of EASA Part 145, Part M, and UK military airworthiness regulations and Safety Management Systems. His experiences include civil and military consulting, training, facilitation, advisory and instructor activities.
Career background and experience
Pete has extensive experience as a technician, supervisor, instructor and manager. He offers both fixed and rotary wing experience. He has enjoyed a varied career in aviation, working across both the military and civil domains collaborating with multinationals on a global basis. Prior to joining Baines Simmons, Peter worked for Babcock Defence Services as a Training Manager, responsible for developing and delivering a catalogue of technical training to support the organisation.

Peter’s achievements include:

Solely responsible for developing and implementing a Human Factors and Error Management system spanning multiple sites across 2 countries.
Developing a Safety Management System training package for the European Defence Agency and then delivering this to major stakeholders from most European Military regulators.
