Three consultants have returned to Baines Simmons, part of the Services Division at global aviation services group, Air Partner, a Wheels Up company, to further their careers with the safety specialist. Aviation experts Paul White and Craig Simmonds re-joined the company in October, whilst Andy Llewellyn has confirmed his return for March. Paul and Andy re-join Baines Simmons as senior consultants, and Craig has resettled into an airworthiness surveyor position.
Ian Holder, Managing Director at Baines Simmons, said: “We are delighted to welcome Craig, Paul and Andy back to Baines Simmons. We work hard to create a culture where everyone is valued and can thrive, so it is great to see that they view us as the place for growth in their careers. Moreover, it demonstrates Baines Simmons’ market-leading position for excellence, and we are thrilled to attract and drawback in such talent.”
Paul started his career at Baines Simmons in 2015 as a consultant, having held operational and engineering positions prior at British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Multiflight. With almost 35 years of aviation maintenance and management experience within the Continuing Airworthiness domain, Paul has developed a broad knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness across a range of different aircraft types. He is a specialist in the European Aviation Safety Agency Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (EASA CAMO) and its activities, providing clients with training on EASA and UK CAA regulations and consulting on the implementation of compliant Maintenance and Engineering systems.
Craig started his career as a helicopter engineer and has 35 years’ experience in the aviation industry. He has spent the last three years as an Airworthiness Inspector for the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) and now holds the position of Airworthiness Surveyor at Baines Simmons, specialising in technical standards. He brings a vast wealth of knowledge to the team, with experience working with various National Aviation Authorities on a wide variety of fixed and rotary wing aircraft types ranging from private and business aviation to large commercial airliners.
Andy’s previous tenure at Baines Simmons was between 2016-2020 and he re-joins the business following a position as Head of Aviation Safety at Raytheon UK. Prior to joining Baines Simmons in 2016, he was with the RAF for 17 years working in the ATC and Airfield Management domains. Notably, Andy oversaw the smooth transition from military to civilian management at MOD St Athan by implementing an Airfield Safety Management System (SMS). A qualified training instructor, Andy is also highly experienced in training governance and the administration of aviation-specific psychometric testing. Andy specialises in safety risk management and management systems, where he has in depth experience and expertise across civil and military domains.
